Privacy Policy — Minhaj al-Muslim

We value your trust and are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Minhaj al-Muslim app handles and how it is used.

Quick summary

This app does not create user accounts, does not sell or share data for marketing or advertising, and contains no ads or tracking tools of any kind. It requests location only to determine Qibla direction and prayer times.

1. Location

The app requests device location (GPS) for two purposes only: determining the Qibla direction, and calculating prayer times for your location and showing your approximate city. Your coordinates are sent only to trusted calculation services to perform this calculation, and are not stored on any server we operate. You can deny location access at any time.

2. Data stored only on your device

The app saves locally on your device only: Quran khatma progress, bookmarked verses, last reading position, tasbih count, appearance/color/language preferences, and prayer notification settings. You can delete all of this by uninstalling the app.

3. Prayer time notifications

Adhan and pre-prayer reminder alerts are calculated and scheduled entirely on your device; no data is sent to our servers for this feature.

4. No accounts or personal information

The app does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personal information, and requires no sign-in.

5. Third-party services

The app connects directly to: Quran.com API for Quran text, AlQuran Cloud API as a fallback source, Aladhan API for prayer times, and OpenStreetMap / Nominatim to resolve your approximate city name. These services are independent of us and have their own privacy policies.

6. Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated as the app evolves. Any update will be published here with a revised date.
